Duplicate File Finder is built to need as little of your data as possible. Here's exactly what exists and where.
Duplicate File Finder has no telemetry and no analytics. Day-to-day use — including every scan, every delete, every move — never phones home. The only network activity it ever performs is the one-time activation check described below — nothing else is ever sent to us. Scanning, hashing, and comparing files all happen entirely on your own machine.
Pro license keys are verified entirely offline, on your own machine, using cryptographic signature checking — that part never contacts any server. Separately, the first time you click Activate, the app makes a single network request to our activation server with your license key and a hashed device identifier (not your raw hardware ID), so we can enforce one device per key and block a key after a refund. If you're offline at that moment, activation still proceeds using the offline check alone. After activation, the app doesn't contact the server again — everyday use stays fully offline. Your key is stored locally on your machine and, on our end, only as the device-binding record described here plus the record of having issued it to you (see "Purchases" below).
If you enable a scheduled scan (Pro), it runs locally via a Windows Scheduled Task you create — nothing is uploaded, and no third party is involved. Results are saved to a file on your own machine until you next open the app to review them.
This site has no accounts and no sign-in. We don't operate a database of site visitors.
Checkout is handled entirely by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card details — Paddle's own privacy policy governs payment data. After a purchase, we keep a private record of your email address and the license key issued to you, so we can help you if you lose your key or need a refund. This record is never sold or shared, and only used for license support.
This site sets no first-party tracking cookies. Paddle's own embedded checkout script may set cookies necessary for checkout to function — those are governed by Paddle's privacy policy, not ours.
Email customersupport@adiram.net with any privacy question, including a request to delete your purchase record.
